The city of Maun is the third largest city in Botswana, and the name is derived from the San word ”maung”, which translates to ”the place of short reeds”. Located in the heart of the Ngamiland District, the city of Maun is renowned as the tourism capital of Botswana. Known as the transit city, Maun mainly serves as the gateway for tourists visiting the world-famous Okavango Delta.

Maun International Airport (MUB)

Maun International Airport (MUB) is one of the busiest Airports in the Southern African regions, based on the hourly schedule. 

It is on the north side of the town, approximately 2 km and is accessible by shuttle bus or taxi. 

Maun Airport is the main gateway to the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve. Many tour operators offer chartered flights to Botswana’s tourist sites from this airport.

Fastjet Zimbabwe operates regular scheduled flights from Victoria Falls to Maun.
